Boston Medical and Surgical Journal, now known as the New England Journal of Medicine, is an American medical journal first published in 1828. Its first issue (volume 1, number 1) was dated February 19, 1828. This volume is the second in the new series numbering was introduced in parallel in January, 1868 and dropped after 1872.
