Story of the 18th century Danish Flora Danica dining service in English and Danish (on opposite pages of the book). 1, 451 of 2,000 printed. 35 plates (some in colour) of the service. The decorative boards (flora Danica style) are in good condition; although with a leather spine which is quite scuffed; especially at the head and tail. The binding is tight. Internally, the pages are sound and the hint of tanning may just be a reflection of the type of paper (including laid endpapers) selected. The main condition-related issue is the card slipcase. It s scuffed and damaged in places, especially at the head and tail of the spine. Also, the bottom section of the slipcase s card is missing (as far as one can tell). pp. 80 + plates. 8vo (imperial octavo).
