Von Frankenberg wraps, covers moderately worn and rubbed, crease noted along front hinge, few tiny nicks at edges, spine ends thumbed, with one inch piece missing at top. First appearance of this second of four stories of the Spanish Civil War centered around Chicote's Bar, Madrid, that were not collected until 1969 when Scribner's issued, The Fifth Column And Four Unpublished Stories Of The Spanish Civil War.
