Phoenix, Arizona: (circa 1894). Cabinet card. Albumen photograph [7.5 cm x 10 cm] on white cardstock mount with decorative cut edges [10.5 cm x 15 cm]. Printed in gilt on the mount: "Beattie, Phoenix, Arizona." Striking staged portrait of a group of men on bicycles in the Arizona desert who are accompanied by two men and two women on horseback. J. Walter Beattie established a photography studio in Phoenix in 1894 and local newspaper advertisements show him operating in the city through 1897. Seller Inventory # 74671
