About this Item
Text/BRAND NEW. Softcover/NF w/faint creasing & closed tear to lower spine. "CD lingo" glossary to back cover. 10 pages. 1975 hit song recorded by C. W. McCall (pseudonym of Bill Fries) on MGM Records. Written by McCall and Chip Davis, the song ushered in a fad for citizens band (CB) radio and inspired the 1978 Sam Peckinpah film Convoy. Consisting of conversation in CB slang and a chorus, Convoy is a narrative of a trucker, driving non-stop from the west coast to the east, in protest of the 55 mph speed limit just recently instituted in response to the 1970s gas crisis.
