Grand folio sheet, 64 x 34 cm. Wonderful woodcut "image d'Epinal" showing the crucifixion of Christ. Vividly hand-colored in 5 colors. Scene is depicted in a charmingly primitive style.See photos. Mounted on thick paper, on the back of which are two more images, half-sheet each, of two battle scenes, being the "Bataille de Coulmiers" and the "Bataille de Dijon," which bear dates of 1870 and 1871, so I am assuming that the "Calvaire" is from the same period.
