This VG+ book is a very early edition: the book was copyrighted in October, 1912 and this book has a Harper's code of "K-M", meaning it was published November, 1912. This book is in very good condition: it is square, with no corner bumps or edge dings, and very lightly bumped head and heel of the spine with no damage (see photo). The exterior is clean and free of damage and with practically no visible wear--for example, the front panel illustration is quite clear with no signs of wear (see photo). The interior is completely free of writing, stray marks, stains and page damage. The front hinge has a 3-1/2" split in the paper covering the hinge--but the hinge does not seem to be weakened by this damage. Paper is lightly toned and very flexible; hinges are strong; the frontis + 11 (some are photos, others are illustrations) is intact. The jacket is very toned and darkened, with small chips at the front corners and larger chips at the head and heel of the spine (see photo). Seller Inventory # BMR-2019-11-27-3
