Adapted from the Preface: In Camp Hill, Cumberland Country,m stands a marker erected by the Pennsyvania Historical and Museum Commission commemorating the Hendricks Rifflemen, who earned their glory at the very outset of the Revolutionary War. Six months before the year of independence began the riflemen had marched a thousand miles, fought and disappeared into a haze of oblivion which never has really cleared.
