About this title

Synopsis:

"Celebrity Stew" shares Leo Pearlstein's behind-the-scenes adventures with Hollywood royalty over the last 50 years. The book also highlights over 200 rare and nostalgic photos of many of Hollywood's biggest stars during his publicity campaigns. This includes photos of Steve Allen, who wrote the book's Foreword, Mickey Rooney, Bob Hope, Phyllis Diller, Abbott & Costello, Groucho Marx, Dinah Shore, and many others. The book gives a great overview of the public relations industry, while being fun, educational and entertaining.

About the Author:

Leo Pearlstein, known as the "king of culinary public relations," pioneered the food product publicity genre by helping create many of talkshow TV's most memorable and humorous segments, such as with Steve Allen and Dinah Shore. He also created publicity opportunities with many of America's favorite movie and TV stars, as well as music, sports and political celebrities.

While working in his parents' small grocery store in Los Angeles, he was an award-winning student and one of the earliest marketing graduates from USC. "Celebrity Stew" shows how he combined his marketing expertise with celebrities, to draw extra attention to his clients' food products.
