About this Item

Sage green cloth hard cover with embossed cameo photograph of a young woman in bonnet on front cover. Light soiling to covers. Unmarked, showing light reader's use and handling with several short tears to pages at margins. 92pp. with four blank pages in rear for traveler's notes of trip through Yellowstone Park. Charming sketches and vignettes throughout by Charles M. Russell, and period photographs of park scenes accompany the romantic story of a young woman's observations of nature during her journey through the park from Mammoth Springs, The Fountain Hotel, Old Faithful, the lake and the canyon. Though hundreds of copies of this book were likely sold in park shops during the early part of the 20th century as vacationers flocked to the park when railroad connections and grand lodges made the remote area accessible to more visitors, few copies survive today. Size: 8vo - 8" - 9" Tall. Bookseller Inventory # 20486
