Small square folio. 10 1/4"x12 3/4". Unpaginated. Broken leporello binding. Decorative patterned white silk boards, with white gold-speckled paper label on the front cover. The work contains 6 color plates of hand-colored woodcuts. The work seems to be in a style similar to Lianhuanhua (linking serial pictures), however significantly larger than usually found. The six plates include images of Qing officers entering a town and traveling through natural landscapes (in a mountain-river style), Siheyuan (traditional style courtyard house), and monks at a temple. The subject matter displayed is Chinese, while the images seem to exhibit certain aspect of non-traditional Chinese style for example the use of perspective in architecture, color plates which include hues of pink, and simplified lines color over-painting. Images measure approximately 21x 25". Binding with front cover detached and bowed from water exposure. Front and back boards with some general smudges as well as some rubbing to corners and edges. Minor markings in pen on the label on the front cover. Name of previous owner in ink and some additional notes in pencil at the interior front cover . Images with some sporadic small water spots and/or abrasions. Binding in poor, interior in good- to good+ condition overall. Seller Inventory # 12793
