Book Description Platt & Munk, 1936. Pictorial Wraps. Book Condition: Fine to Near Fine. Macknight, Ninon (illustrator). 1st. This is Series #3400 A thru H complete. The additional titles (D thru H) are Kala of Hawaii; Olga of Norway; Manuel of Mexico; Chula of Siam and Maria and Carlos of Spain. Each title is in the same format - Color pictorial front cover (pg 1); second page is always roughly one half text and one half B/W drawing; third page is an almost full page color illustration with four lines of text; fourth and fifth pages are similar to the second; sixth and seventh are similar to page three; eighth and ninth again are similar to pages four and five; the tenth is again almost a full color illustration with four lines of text; eleventh page is similar to the second; the rear cover (page 12) shows a B/W drawing of the subject child along with eight lines of poetry in two stanzas - all on a white background. The poems are 'signed' "K.C.G" (Kate Cox Goddard). All, except as noted, are Fine - Kala's rear cover is browning; Chula's front cover has two small but apparent pink marks - these latter being Near Fine. These are the original printings - not reprints. Note my listing #000825, 1935 Series A thru H, Indian Children by Roger Vernam at the same price. I have a single copy of Platt & Munk's Series 3600 E, 1939, Uncle Wiggily and The Red Spots (Howard Garis) in Very Good condition - browning, spotting on front cover and light edge wear which will accompany whichever set is sold first (9 titles for the cost of 8).
