Three issues of this annually-published yearbook from one of the country's earliest Civil War Round Tables (Chicago was the first) -- a group whose location guaranteed a "Who's Who" in their membership, officers and speakers: Bruce Catton, Karl Betts, Ralph S. Henry, Virgil Carrington Jones, etc. The first of these is subtitled "1957-1958 Season," the second "1958-1959 Season" and the third "1959-1960 Season," and each recaps the year's events, programs, trips and so on, complete with illustrations. Accompanied by a Typed Letter Signed from thr group's vice president REX W. MAGEE (1906-92), 1p, 8½" X 11", Washington, DC, 31 December 1958. Addressed to noted Lincoln/Civil War scholar ARNOLD F. GATES (1914-93), long-time officer of the New York City Civil War Round Table. Near fine. On letterhead of "The Civil War Round Table of the District of Columbia," which cites Magee as vice president, he chats cordially about various Round Table matters.
