This is a nicely bound, profusely illustrated antique copy of "Coaching Days and Coaching Ways" by W. Outram Tristram. 1893; Macmillan and Co.; London. The book is richly illustrated with 244 drawings by Hugh Thomson and Herbert Railton. Beautifully bound "Edition de Luxe" with gilt lettering and illustrations on the front cover and spine, and gilt page edges on all sides of the text block. The contents are as follows: The Bath Road; The Exeter Road; The Portsmouth Road; The Brighton Road; The Dover Road; The York Road; The Holvhead Road; Conclusion. Condition: There is a tiny bit of mottling to the cloth at the outer edge of the front cover. The top edge of the spine is chipped/worn down. Bright gilt on the front cover; the gilt on the spine has faded just a bit. Bright gilt on all sides of the text block. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Both covers are firmly attached. Tiny cloth tears at 3 of the cover corners. Foxing to the pages - mostly mild, though occasionally heavier here and there (most notably on the front and rear end papers and half title page). The tissue guard over the frontispiece is tanned. Overall the book is in Good+ condition.
