"The Spanish occupation of Colima was integral part of the design of New Spain, as shaped by Cortés. The men who were fresh from the plunder of the Aztec state were not slow to turn westward. Colima was important in the quest for mineral wealth, as a vas for reconnoitering the unknown North, and for the long voyage to the East Indies" (Author). Wrappers with light sunning and wear along edges, spine sunned. Water stains to plates in margins not affecting images. Wrappers in overall good+, interior in very good condition.
