This colorful map was produced by George F. Cram in 1883, and appeared in "Crams Unrivaled Family Atlas of the World", Chicago Illinois. This early Cram map appears early in the mapmakers career, who was one of the first American map makers to start using Lithographic Coloring techniques. Lithographic color made for detailed and accurate coloring of maps. This state maps shows great detail including counties, cities and towns, lakes and rivers, mountains and other topographical marks, and most important the existing railroad net work in 1883. Over all a great map, includes decorative border. This map measures 12 inches by 9.5 inches. Seller Inventory # 48778

This colorful map came from Crams 1892 Universal Atlas. In 1869 the George F. Cram Company was born and the Cram name quickly became synonymous with accuracy and innovation. Hardcover. Condition: Good - Cash. No Jacket. First Edition. Folio Over 12-15' Tall. Dark green linen hardboards, silver block letters and globe on face. Soiled covers, heavy rubbing to ends and corners; fraying and boards exposed. P/O name stamp on pastedowns and ffep. Front hinge broken. Pages unmarked. Ffep is torn and slightly loose from the binding. Both pastedowns are torn at the binding, showing the boards and webbing underneath. Stock photos may not look exactly like the book. This map was issued as part of "Crams Standard American Railway Atlas" produced by George F. Cram. The maps of each state were the most detailed maps showing railroads of their time. Cram's Railroad Atlas was acclaimed as one of the finest ever produced. Each railroad line was individually colored, numbered, and identified. This map measures 24 by 16 inches.
