About this Item

A fine, fresh copy well-bound in a rich, red hardcover with no apparent markings. Crisp, clean interior, with subtle signs of use to the exterior edges of the spine and slightly rubbed corners. Housed in a near-fine dust jacket, protected by a plastic covering. No markings, but does contain a few signs of rubbing and some scuffs, mostly to the edges as well as the ends of the spine. Cover design is boldly lettered, with unobstrusive images of red costume masks in upper corners. 10"x7.5", vii+178 pages. This book tells the story of the origin of the costume in the theatre coming up to the early 1930s. Contains several interesting black and white illustrations.
