Hardbacks are overall in VERY GOOD condition. ** All 3 volumes: Covers have gilt and ink borders, and beveled edges; Spine has elaborate gilt decoration; Text block is edged in red ink; Marbled pastedowns are secure; Binding is secure and tight; Interiors are gently age-toned; Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks; Very rare signs of foxing; Feps are expectedly a little more aged than rest of book; Owner's sig on ffep; Spines are sunned; Covers exhibit minimal shelfwear, moderate soiling and light scuffing. * Volume 1: Page VII in Contents has 1/4" tear with fold in fore margin; Back cover exhibits water damage and is warped; Tail of spine has 1" crack at the front shoulder, and a tiny margin of vellum is chipped off; Head of spine has tiny chip at front shoulder; * Volume 2: Has original ribbon marker; Modest dog-ear at page 404; Very faint water stain in foot margin, text height and spine and diminishing to center of page; Head of spine has 1" cracks at shoulders, and some chipping; Tail of spine has tiny chip; * Volume 3: Red staining to front cover; Back cover staining is a red-brown; Top corners of boards are warped; Front marble paper has .5" circle of smeared ink. ** Vol 1: 420 pp. Vol 2: 411 pp. Vol 3: 417 pp. 4.5 x 6.25 inches. ** Postage for oversized and international shipping will be calculated by size and weight.
