About this Item
A smart copy of this detailed collection of historical documentation relating to the Act of Uniformity of 1662. With an historical introduction. A detailed record of the settlement of the Church of England following the Act of Uniformity of 1662. After the restoration of the monarchy in 1660, the Prayer Book was revised and reintroduced. Following this, Parliament passed an Act which authorised the use of a revised version of the Prayers and Administration of Sacraments, with reference to other rites and ceremonies, to establish one form across all churches of the Church of England. With commentary on English Puritanism and its history. In the original brown cloth binding. Externally, smart with light shelf wear to the extremities. Fading to the spine and board edges. The odd mark to the board. A small split in the cloth to the head of the spine. Hinges are starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light scattered spotting predominantly to the first and last few pages. Very Good. Seller Inventory # 880T75
