Mounted albumen photograph depicting a group of young men of the 8th Cavalry, Troop I, piled into a horse-drawn wagon decorated with American flags. Photo likely taken circa 1915. No photographer's information. Mount measures 7 ½" x 5 ½", and photograph measures 6 ¾" x 5". Photograph has light soiling and light yellowing, photo has very good contrast; light wear to edges. Troop I of the Eighth Cavalry was active in the Indians Wars throughout the 19th century, serving at numerous forts in New Mexico, the Spanish-American War, serving in South Dakota and Montana, and the Mexican Revolution serving on the U.S.-Mexico border, stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas (U.
