About this Item
Harold Cross published several books on the mechanics of early automobiles: he was a mechanical engineer; this was one of his first books. In good condition, this has a great frontispiece of a woman kicking up the starter in a very stylish hat. There are very nice illustrations throughout, most having to do with the workings of circuits and the way they work inside the early automobile. There are embossed library marks from the previous owner and some light soiling from use and reading. Covers such topics as definition and explanation of technical terms, dynamos and electro-magnet machines.
