Description:

First edition. Illustrated throughout, including the promised photographs of the reverse side of the moon. 4to, original stiff paper wrappers decorated with a lunar photograph and lettered in white. 34 pp and plates. Remarkably well preserved with just a little staining along the top edge of a few leaves and very minor evidence of use. AN EXCELLENT SOVIET HISTORY OF THE AUTOMATIC INTERPLANETARY STATION, the third Soviet space mission which used a space probe to photograph the dark side of the moon. This well-illustrated account describes the space probe and its mission and, of course, provides the photographs taken by it. Bookseller Inventory #
