About this Item

8vo. Stiff wrappers. 19pp. Illustrations. Very good. Outer wrapper (only) lightly age toned, else internally fine. First edition, tight and nice, with choice autograph addition: Tipped to inside front wrapper is a Typed Note Signed from McMurtry, 1p, 7¼" X 10½", Fort Wayne, IN, 15 August 1968. Addressed to Arnold Gates (1914-93, noted Lincoln scholar). Near fine. Two original mailing folds. On pictorial letterhead of "The Lincoln National Life Foundation," which lists him as director, McMurtry sends "Many thanks for the two copies of Ambassador which carries the story 'Strange Odyssey of Lincoln's Clothes.'
