Octavo. Engraved portrait frontispiece, 664(1)pp., half-title (blind stamped "presentation copy), bound in original blue paper covered boards backed in linen, spine lettering black, uncut, some darkening to endpapers, early repair to rear inner hinge and free endpaper. A very good copy with spine darkened. Blunt writes about the British occupation in Egypt from his personal diary of the events that happened while there. Blunt states that the truth needed to be written as many were writing about the occupation that were not completely honest. Two previous owner's names; William J. (Joseph) Benfield dated Oct. 1911. Jim was known as Willie Joe who was a farmer and teacher. He had 11 children and 50+ grandchildren and another name more recent. Bookseller Inventory # 015614
