About this Item
First Edition, First Printing. Publisher's speckled green cloth with black corn stalk on the front board and black lettering to the spine; this hardcover binding is clean, tight, and square. The interior is clean: no writing, no bookplates, etc. The text is clean and unmarked. The dustjacket remains un-clipped ($2.00) and is bright, attractive, and whole with light wear to the lower spine end and corner folds. A really beautiful copy in vibrant original jacket; you'll be hard pressed to find a better copy of this rare and important novel of the American Left and WWI. Cunningham and this novel had a profound influence on Jim Thompson during his days as a member of the Communist Party and Federal Writer's Project in Oklahoma. A great read, and an important book.
