Stated secdond edition, revised and corrected. Vellum. Roughly 6 by 3 ½ inches. Xx, 413 pp. MISSING leaf 167/68 and 385/86. All text in Italian. As the lengthy title indicates, this work is devoted to the many churches found in Lucca, Italy, including the art found in them, festivals, religious relics, etcetera. Lucca was on one of the main routes from the north for people making pilgrimages to Rome thus the large number of churches found in the city. GOOD condition. Missing the aforementioned two leaves. Title handwritten in ink on the spine. Vellum very unevenly toned and browned, with spotting, staining and soiling. Vellum split along the lower extremities, exposing the boards beneath. Extremities rather bumped scuffed and worn. Inside front cover with some ink doodles and an ink signature on the lower title page. Some annotations and notes in ink on the last several blank pages. Minor scattered soiling and staining to the text block. Seller Inventory # 018864
