About this Item
For extra pictures of the more valuable books, please press the 'Ask Bookseller A Question' button. This rare dark red cloth edition is in excellent condition overall - described on the verso as 'reissued large size 1909'. Note, this edition exists in both the large and standard size. This is 228mm by 159mm. Glowing maroon decorated boards and spine in unusually bright condition. Extra red framing on front board and spine - flower decoration very distinct. Bright gold lettering. Unusually, there is no bumping to the corners of the boards. Very slight crease to the front board. Very slight tear to top of spine repaired. Contents are mostly very clean with unusually very little light foxing on the text pages. Many superb colour plates each with own tissue guards - in generally unusually bright and clean condition without foxing. The plates themselves are mostly extremely clean and there are very few marks indeed. On inside front cover, and f.e.p. the pervious owner (author Paul Vine) has stuck down some copies of watercolours. Hinge to front f.e.p. strengthened.
