About this Item
A sound copy of this 252 page hagiography of Irving. No inscriptions, and edges and corners of covers rubbed slightly. Inside is loosely inserted an als from Irving to Mortimer Menpes, dated 1898 and written from Grafton Street. He thanks Menpes for a gift (obviously a painting), and says that he is going to Bournemouth, where he hoped to get a little rest. With the letter are 8 of the 12 portraits of Irving that Menpes published in 1906. These have been neatly removed from the booklet in which they originally appeared. An interesting and unusual item.
