Second, enlarged, and best edition, enlarged with the help of Thomas Jefferson. "In its completed form the best French history of this war; Rochambeau aided in its preparation" - Howes. An excellent work covering the history of the colonies from 1768 through 1783, with an emphasis on French and Spanish participation, and the signing of the treaty at Paris; all experts agree with Howes that this is the best French history of the Revolution. This set contains three maps: a large one of the United States, a map of the area around Yorktown, and a map of the Chesapeake showing the marches of the French and American troops. SABIN 87290.
