Paris, 1742. Revised edition of this translation of "The Old and New Testament Connected in the History of the Jews and Neighbouring Nations" (1715-1717), originally published in 1720. Antique set bound in full leather with raised bands and gilt lettering and decorative designs to spines. Books show external wear, with rubbing and bumped outside corners that show minor loss of material. Volumes are solidly bound, with marbled endpapers and red edges. Interiors are clean, with sporadic light foxing. Illustrated with frontispiece plates and numerous well-preserved fold-out maps, plates, charts, and tables. Final volume contains chronology and table of contents. A nice copy of an important set, good to very good overall condition. Bookseller Inventory # SET0303
