Book smells old. Undated at title page, but both the preface and frontis is dated 1835. Cream cloth boards with black leather band to spine with gilt tltle. Some soiling and light foxing to inside pages. Previous owner's pencil ticks to list of engravings. Book is not in it's original binding - it has been rebound in the 1980s and has new endpapers, and a photocopy of a catalogue page has been inserted in the back relating to books on the cotton industry. 544pp B&W illustrations and text.
