Synopsis: At once chilling and hilarious, Hungarian Rhapsody would be an action comedy of errors if not for the collateral damage to the innocent and brave, as a handful of deadly rogue professionals on a top-secret international mission blunder across the path of a loyal band of bare-handed karate fighters. So call it an action tragicomedy of errors and you'll have the recipe for this page-turner, which I guarantee in the course of its pages will make you both laugh out loud and well up.
- Editor, Annie Gottlieb
A fiction for fun, that's all. Although Hungarian Rhapsody is not intended for kids, the reader will find here a glimpse into the world of real Budo Karate, not the "kerrahtee" of the American mass market, or the unbelievable high-flying stunt work of the Hong Kong action flick. Join me, here, as a couple East European thugs turned practitioners of karate struggle to remain on their path of reformation through the discipline of karate in spite of the absolute worst that an international band of cold-blooded killers can throw at them.
- Author, Nathan Ligo
About the Author: Nathan Ligo is a graduate of Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina, and the only American to hold a diploma from Mas Oyama's legendary Young Lions' Program in Japan (awarded, as Mas Oyama put it, "as a special case" after Nathan endured nearly 600 days in a program that when he started had never been completed by a non-Japanese). He is the founder of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization Ligo Dojo of Budo Karate in Durham, North Carolina, and a branch chief of Kyokushin-kan International Karate Organization under Kancho Hatsuo Royama in Japan.
