About this Item
A fine copy in near fine dustjackets of this two volume slipcased biography. This is a book club edition. Bound in grey cloth with red and gilt lettering to the spine and front board. The binding is strong and clean with square corners. The contents are clean and white with no ownership inscriptions or other markings of any kind. The unclipped dust jackets are crisp, clean, and complete, showing only very minor edgewear and spine fade. They are now protected in removable mylar covers. The slipcase shows some soiling and wear, including some splits to the joints, but is still sound and functional. From the blurb: "This is the first biography of John Adams to be written since the great treasury of his papers and letters became available to scholars. Adams was one of the saltiest and most perceptive diarists in our history, and these volumes illuminate the character of a man who was, even in his lifetime, a symbol of New England and America".
