About this title

Synopsis:

Continues the story of Bonnie Prince Charlie's treasure with this tale of a young woman from the shores of Loch Ness who sets off on a journey of love, danger, and enchantment

From Library Journal:

This book is a sequel to the successful romance Practice To Deceive. Geoffrey Delavale (brother of the heroine of the first book) is an English soldier, wounded in battle in the 1745 Jacobite rebellion. He is nonetheless sympathetic to the Jacobites because of the savage treatment the Duke of Cumberland is meting out to the rebels and their innocent families. Masquerading as an invalid and settled onto a Scottish household, he sneaks out at night to rescue rebels and take them to safety. As an English traitor, he is pursued by British troops; as the owner of an estate his uncle has laid claim to, he is pursued by his uncle's hired killers. He and Prudence, daughter of the Scots household, spend the novel trying to escape the killers and deliver a Jacobite cipher. Well done. Marylaine Block, St. Ambrose Coll. Lib., Davenport, Ia .
