About this Item

Subtitle: Various Reflections and Observations on Human Nature. This small hardback book has its original leather covers with a red leather label on the spine and six gilt decorations which suggest raised bands. The binding is cracked along the front seam but is still firmly attached. There are remnants of a brown paper "dust jacket" on which is written (in an ornate nineteenth-century hand) the title and the author's name, the sort of "jacket" a librarian might devise. The title page specifies several cities where the book was being sold along with the date May, 1800. 208 numbered pages. The volume is quite handsome and is still in very good condition.
