278/361 signed Aldous Huxley on colophon. Small Quarto. 44 (2)pp. Original cream cloth with gilt title stamped to brown leather label of spine. Frontispiece, vignette on title page and headpiece engravings by Eric Gill. The poem recalls the love affair between Queen Leda and her swan (Zeus in disguise). Binding browned along edges and rubbed. Foredge uncut. Half of leather label on spine chipped with only "Le" remaining of Leda. Binding in overall fair to good-, interior in very good condition. Bound in full alum tawed pigskin with an inset bas relief paper cast illustration to the front board. Illustrated with five drypoint etchings and seven wood engravings. The state proofs for both the etchings and the woodblock engravings are enclosed as is a drawing and an extra suite of prints. Both book and prints are enclosed in a specially designed oatmeal cloth covered fall back box. A beautiful example of modern book arts. 42 pages plus non-numbered leaves for the illustrations, 8 x 11 inches, printed at Wild Carrot Letterpress on T.H. Saunders hotpress watercolor paper.
