Written by "Sapper" the pen name of Herman Cyril McNeile, a British soldier and author. As serving officers in the British Army were not permitted to publish works under their own names, he was given the name "Sapper" by Lord Northcliffe, owner of the Daily Mail. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with light shelf wear and the odd mark to the board. Fading to the spine and minor discolouration to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrapper is also smart with light chipping to the extremities, predominantly the head of the spine. Sunning to the spine and the odd mark to the board.
