First edition. Slim 12mo in paper covered boards lettered in dark brown and with a brown and red decoration of an owl wearing a cap. INSCRIBED ON THE FRONT FREE ENDPAPER: "For Frank Harris/ Against the time, perhaps, when he feels that he must read something/ With the sincere regards of / Bert Leston Taylor/ May, 1915". Collection of humorous short verse pieces that first appeared in Puck and the Chicago Tribune. Taylor was a journalist, librettist and author and was a central figure in the Chicago renaissance of tyhe early 20th century. Over the by-line "B.L.T." his column for the Chicago Tribune, "A Line-O'-Type or Two", was syndicated across the country and internationally. Very good. Bookseller Inventory # E7128
