About this Item
These four little books - oblong soft covers of 62 to 76 pages stapled into printed card wrappers - were first published in the 1940's in bilingual editions, English and Navajo. Here they are reissued with just the English text, undated but probably early to mid 1960's. The books describe the daily life of a young Navajo girl, told in her own words, as the seasons change and the family's activities change with them. The numerous full page drawings by the Navajo muralist and illustrator, Hoke Denetsosie, are perfect for these books. The "Autumn" book has a small brown stain at the base of the spine, and there is some minor browning to the edges, but otherwise this is a very good set indeed. Seller Inventory # 002700
