About this Item
Volume IV of the Memorial Edition. Biographies accompanied by portraits of the subjects protected by tissue. Michelangelo, Rembrandt, Rubens, Meissonier, Titian, Anthony Van Dyck, Fortuny, Ary Scheffer, Francois Millet, Joshua Reynolds, Landseer, Gustave Dore. Text tight and clean, No marks or discolouration. Upper page edges gilt, other edges rough cut. Binding is brown leather, with a blind-embossed design of trees on the front cover, and a further design on the spine. The spine is detached by the front edge, partly detached for two inches on the lower left edge but still in place. Small piece detached at the bottom edge, and the top rough. Other edges of the cover have slight rubbing. The rich, glossy leather binding and the printing are by The Roycrofters. Please the other volumes we list in this series. Size: 8vo.
