Each volume 4 x 6 3/4 in. 6 volumes all bound in contemporary full speckled brown calf with gilt rules and florals on spine with black spine labels. Gilt decorated edges. Condition is VERY GOOD ; Covers clean and undamaged. Spines show some rubbing and slight crackles, tail and head of Vol one have some damage, tail only of Vol 3. All labels present and good (all read "De Retz's Memoires"), gilt numbers on spines run from I to VI. Front hinge of Vol one has slight crack not affecting security of binding, and the rear shows cracking at upper 1 1/2 inch. Rear hinge of Vol 3 shows a superficial crack. Text in all is very clean and free of toning and foxing. Vol 1 has the name of Horace Binney,1780-1875, U.S Representitive from Pennsylvania, on ffep. Rare. RGR. Seller Inventory # 9839
