About this title

Mystical Moods of Ireland: Enchanted Celtic Skies, Vol. I, is a part of a two-volume set of photographic essays exploring the ever-changing textures, colors and skyscapes of Ireland.

The book features 49 spectacular color photographs capturing the drama and moods of the legendary Irish weather, as it paints brilliant displays in the skies over County Clare, County Kerry, County Cork and other scenic locations in Ireland.

Many of the images were taken on the same day, and some only minutes apart, confirming local Irish weather wisdom that advises visitors to be prepared to experience all four seasons in a single day.

This updated version has been redesigned for print publication as a glossy softcover "coffee-table" book, and includes a special new chapter -- "Blue Skies - Backdrop to Nature's Landscape" -- showcasing the Emerald Isle landscape under brilliant blue skies.

Author/Photographer James Truett is a resident of County Clare, who returned to his ancestral roots from his birthplace of Alaska more than 100 years after his Irish grandmother and great grandfather separately set out for the distant shores of the U.S. in the 1800s.

About the Author:

Growing up in the quaint hamlet of Ester in the heart of Alaska, James Truett developed an appreciation for nature, photography and publishing at an early age.

He began his career as a journalist and photographer for the local newspaper at the age of 14, picked up his private pilot's license at the age of 17, and by the age of 19, he had moved to Seattle and joined The Associated Press, eventually becoming one of the youngest journalists in the world to be published in every major newspaper in the world.

Over the years, he developed an avid interest in sailing, and has traveled extensively by boat, auto and air in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Central America, Ireland and the UK.

He resides in County Clare, Ireland, from where he manages his portfolio of art, photography and publishing projects.
