About this Item

This is a trade sized paperback book. The book is in Very Good condition and was issued without a dust jacket. The book and its contents are in mostly clean, bright condition. There is some light rubbing and wear to the spine joints and edges of the book covers and there is some ground-in dirt to the rear cover. The text pages are clean and bright. "On Easter morning in 1936, Sun Myung Moon was dep in prayer on a Korean mountainside when Jesus Christ appeared to him and told him that he had an important mission to accomplish in the fulfillment of God's providence. He was then sixteen years old." "Moon was born in what is now North Korea. When he was a child, his family converted to Christianity. In 1947 he was convicted by the North Korean government of spying for South Korea and given a five-year sentence to the Hungnam labor camp. In 1954, he founded the Unification Church in Seoul, South Korea based on conservative, family-oriented teachings from new interpretations of the Bible. Moon has been criticized for rejecting the mainline Christian doctrines of salvation by faith alone, the divinity of Christ, the virgin birth of Jesus, the necessity of the crucifixion of Jesus, a literal resurrection of Jesus, a literal second coming of Jesus, and for the assertion that Jesus should have married.".
