Evans 19338. The first American edition of Varlo's husbandry with a "few hints," a section on American subjects including advice on handling runaway indentured servants. He proposes a "Dog Act" for America to tax the estimated one million dogs and thus increasing food for humans by discouraging household pets. This is one of the major 18th-century Varlo lived in America for two years buying a large land grant on Long Island. A colorful figure, he harbored political theories as well as agricultural.
