Half 19th-century polished calf with six spine compartments between raised bands. Leather label in second compartment with gilt-tooled title "Preparation for the Lords Supper." Blind-tooled decoration in remaining compartments. Marbled paper over boards. Marbled page edges and endpapers. Title page printed within double-ruled border. Back of frontispiece is printed with royal crest and statement of authority, along with a warning that several booksellers had reprinted Keble's work with a new title page and frontispiece to confuse the public. No date of publication; 1780 is taken from library records. ESTC, T80497. Bound with The New Week's Preparation, Part the Second (156 p., 2 leaves of plates (frontispiece and engraved title page)) with undated imprint London: Printed for John Hinton in Pater-noster Row; usually dated to 1782. ESTC, T80496. Gift inscription on the authority page from Ann Metcalfe to Frances Metcalfe, 1783. Illegible former owner's name at head of title page. In Very Good- Condition: rubbed, most heavily at head of spine and front corners; front free endpaper and first 2 leaves (frontispiece and title page) are detached as a unit, but present; a few upper page corners are creased; pages are slightly browned; clean and tight.
