This is a first edition of the 21st Noddy book in very good condition with a very good, later, dustwrapper. The dustwrapper has trivial scuffs to its extremities. The book conforms to all points in the Summerfield bibliography, but the dustwrapper is not a first edition.This copy comes from the estate of a photolithographer at Purnells where the Noddy books were first printed. Second issue circa 1960, 270 x 210 mm, 10½ x 8 inches, hinged on long side, red laminated boards with coloured illustration to both covers. 5 lovely double page coloured pop-up illustrations, 12 large coloured illustrations in the 8 pages of text. Laminate on covers lifting in gutters, about 6 tiny holes in the gutter on the lower cover, caused by erosion beneath the laminate (see image 2). Covers otherwise very bright and contents very nice, pop-ups crisp and perfect. Very good plus copy. First published by Sampson Low, Marston in 1954 with a plastic spiral spine. In this reissue which curiously has no mention of publisher or printer, the title page is omitted and the first and last pop-ups are attached to the inside of the covers.
