Green cloth with a color illustrated pastedown on the front cover. 86 pp. Color illustrations by Johnny Gruelle throughout. A collection of tales for children involving gnomes, fairies, goblins and other creatures. Inspired by a poem by James Whitcomb Riley featuring Orphant Annie, these tales are retold by Annie to the children living in the house where she is boarding. Johnny Gruelle is perhaps better known for his Raggedy Ann and Andy books. GOOD condition. Moderate fading and scuffing, mostly to the extremities. Front pastedown scuffed. Minor soiling.
