About the Book

Vintage original 14 x 36" (35 x 55 cm.) insert poster, USA. Hugo Haas, Beverly Michaels, Allan Nixon, Howland Chamberlain, dir: Hugo Haas; Columbia Pictures. Wonderfully lurid low budget exploitation style melodrama about a young beauty who snares the older man who lusts for her, marries him then plans to murder him. Low budget but well-written and performed, it retains its entertainment value and has a camp appeal. Actor/director Hugo Haas first focused on creating a star of the sultry fashion model/chorus girl Beverly Michaels, but moved on to Cleo Moore once Michaels became respectfully married to Academy Award-winning screenwriter Russell Rouse. There is pin-up appeal to this poster presentation which was lightly folded, has a horizontal crease about 4" down from the top and has a torn area at the top right side blank white margin and two other small border edge tears down the right side blank margin. There is a piece of dark tape at the mid bottom margin. There is a minor "chewed" area towards the bottom left margin. VERY GOOD-FINE. Bookseller Inventory #
