Prize binding of Odiham School. awarded for Writing & Drawing July 1902. Plate on front pastedown and first fly leaf. Hinges cracked and nearly detached front board. Attractive school emblem on front board in gilt. Gilt work remains bright and clean. Light discoloration and fading to leather. Five raised bands with gilt compartments. Spine label is chipped. All edges marbled. Front fly leaf is chipped and nearly detached. Shaken binding. Light toning throughout with minor foxing. Please see photos. First published in 1891, this biography of Pitt the Younger remains unmatched for its succinct coverage of Pitt's life and career and for its specially well-informed insight into the workings of the British political system.
