Contemporary leatherbound covers in midnight blue are richly tooled with gilt filigree borders and gilt bowline knot at center. Boards show some age, repairs at shoulder, edgewear. Corners are bumped and scuffed. See photos. Spine with raised bands has gilt text and decoration, a little scuffed but bright with firm ends. Binding is intact, a little tender at covers. Some signs of separation/repair at inside cover hinges. End papers/ pastedowns of pale blue silk moiré have gilt filigree borders. See photos. Pastedowns and feps have some toning, cataloguer's marks, bookseller sticker. Frontispiece is present and has intact tissue guard. Illustrations are bright and clear. Interior exhibits minimal signs of age and wear, a mark at margin Part 1, pg. 11; occasional shadows on pages facing plates. See photos. Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
